2026 Judge of the Year Nominees
2026 Nominees for Clyde Moore Memorial Hall of Fame
| Nomination for the NAFA Clyde Moore Memorial Hall of Fame |
|---|
| DD - Mix, CRN 140700, (765) LAUNCH, Susi Evans |
| Nominated by: Lisa Hapgood, Highlands Ranch, CO, US |
DD, what stands for Dicey Diva, also signifies drive and determination, qualities that defined this remarkable dog. Despite her petite stature of 15.5 inches, she never allowed her size to hinder her abilities. In her prime, she effortlessly ran sub-4-second times and showcased her versatility by competing in various positions for different handlers. Her only flyball downside was that she never wanted to let go of her tug. When she suffered an injury, our team’s dynamics changed. While it’s easier to maneuver around larger dogs, a height dog like DD is irreplaceable. At the age of 11, she continued to run and retired running impressive times of 4.1 seconds. Her remarkable achievements included receiving the Iron Dog award, accumulating over 55,000 points, and being named the 2019 regional MVP. DD played a pivotal role in breaking numerous records and securing numerous regional championships (6 to be exact). She truly stands as an exceptional and one-of-a-kind canine. |

| Ghostrider - Mix, CRN 140390, (2) Animal Inn, John Forseth |
| Nominated by: Neil Flood, Prior Lake, MN, US |
I am nominating John Forseth’s dog, Ghostrider, for the Clyde Moore Hall of Fame. I have had the privilege of racing alongside John and Ghost throughout their career, and they were an important part of some of Animal Inn’s greatest success. Ghost had an exceptional 10-year racing career, contributing to two NAFA Championships, a CanAm Championship, five Regional titles, and a Purina Incredible Dog Challenge title. In the lanes, Ghost was the model of consistency. His best time was in the low 3.5s, and he consistently ran 3.6s with an exceptionally clean and reliable turn. You could always count on John and Ghost for a great pass and a fast, consistent run. Ghost was also incredibly easy to run, making him an ideal dog for junior handlers learning the intricacies of the sport. His ability to perform at an elite level while being so reliable for developing handlers made him truly special. His impact extends beyond his own career. Ghost sired several dogs that went on to successful racing careers of their own, creating a lasting legacy in the sport. Ghost’s longevity, championship success, consistency, and lasting impact make him exceptionally deserving of the Clyde Moore Hall of Fame. |

| Meighyn - Irish Red and White Setter, CRN 170203, (89) K-9 Kommotion, Teresa Turner |
| Nominated by: Sheri Brodie, Hitchcock, TX, US |
Meighyn demonstrated exceptional talent from the moment she was introduced to Flyball. She learned the sport quickly and began racing as soon as she was eligible, displaying natural ability and a true passion for competition. Throughout her career, she consistently ran in the low 4-second range, making her a reliable and valued teammate. Her Flyball career spanned from 2017 through May 2024, when she was forced to retire due to an autoimmune disorder. Beyond her athletic accomplishments, Meighyn was known for her spirited personality. Affectionately nicknamed “Dragon,” she earned that title through her enthusiastic post-race attempts to steal entire bags of treats, occasionally taking a finger along with them. Meighyn’s versatility made her an asset to any team. She could run in any position, for anyone, and was always willing to help another team when needed. Her love of Flyball took her to tournaments in Oklahoma, Indiana, and Alabama, where she especially enjoyed competing alongside her friends from Dixie Flyers. As an IRWS, Meighyn made breed history by becoming the first to earn both the HOBBES and MB ONYX titles. Her achievements, sportsmanship, and dedication to Flyball make her highly deserving of induction into the NAFA Hall of Fame. |

| Taz - Mudi, CRN 100687, (73) F.A.M.E., Pat Edmonds |
| Nominated by: Stephanie Landry, Steeves Mountain, NB, CA |
We respectfully submit the nomination of Taz, an imported Mudi, for the Clyde Moore Memorial Hall of Fame. Taz started racing in 2010, received his Iron Dog in 2018 and received his HOBBES at 13 years of age. HOBBES in our small region is very difficult to achieve due to the limited number of tournaments. Upon retirement he was ranked #106 of all breeds with 101,586 points and ranked #1 Mudi. Taz occasionally raced in Region 20 and 13, but was well known in Region 10, for being an untiring start dog for FAME Division 1 team. He often helped out other teams in Region 10 when a dog was needed and could fit anywhere. He helped beginner dogs in the club learn to pass, as he ignored them and stayed totally focused on his job. He overcame ball dropping early in his career, and became a dependable speedy workhorse, and even ran 100% efficiency at a tournament with no errors. He was aptly called Taz as he was a bouncing, barking dog in the lanes, showing his love and enthusiasm while waiting for his turn. Spectators had smiles on their faces watching him display his love for the game. |

| Wonder - Mix, CRN 180418, (46) Some Ruff Competition, Amy White |
| Nominated by: Emma Hamilton, (46) Some Ruff Competition, Innisfil, ON, CA |
Standing just 13 inches tall, Wonder Woman is the kind of dog every team hopes to build around. Wonder's greatest gift is her adaptability: she can swap handlers, swap positions in the lineup, and jobs without ever missing a beat, giving our club a flexibility few other dogs can match. As a 7" height dog, she has been instrumental in allowing other dogs on our team to continue racing in Regular or Multibreed, extending careers and keeping our team competitive at the highest level. At the age of 10, she continues to run 3.8s over her own height making her an instrumental part as a height dog, a pack dog, or a 'breed' dog in Multi. Her willingness to step into whatever role is needed, whenever it is needed, speaks to both her talent and her heart. Wonder has raced with our club at CanAm in 2023, 2024, and 2025, and represented Canada at Westminster and FOWC in 2026, rising to the occasion every single time. Large events like this call upon a certain caliber of dog, and she has never waivered. She is steady under pressure, fearless, and endlessly reliable. Please consider Wonder Woman as your 2026 Region 2 MVP. |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 3 |
|---|
| Bee - Mix, CRN 200144, (759) Nose to Nose, Shawn & Bryan Hurley |
| Nominated by: Alysha Riel, (1146) Atomic Dogs Flyball, Savage, MN, US |
We are thrilled to nominate Bee for Regional MVP! Bee is an amazing little height dog and an incredible member of the Nose 2 Nose flyball team. As a tripod and amputee, she has overcome challenges that would stop many dogs in their tracks, yet she shows up and does her job with consistency and determination. Bee knows her job, owns her lane, and is someone her team can always rely on to get the job done. Her speed, focus, and reliability are impressive on four legs??"but the fact that she accomplishes all of this on three makes her performance truly remarkable. Bee doesn’t make excuses; she simply runs, works hard, and gives her all for her team. She is proof that determination and heart can overcome obstacles, and she brings that same spirit to every race. For her consistency and perseverance, Bee is more than deserving of Regional MVP recognition. She may be a little height dog, but she has a HUGE impact on her team! |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 3 |

| Gigi - Mix, CRN 250150, (1068) Power UN-leashed, Bob Atol |
| Nominated by: Sue Tullar, (1068) Power UN-leashed, Farmington, MN, US |
Region 3 MVP Nomination Gigi Gigi may be just one dog on a flyball team, but she has been making a BIG impact this season! Right now, Power UN-leashed is leading the overall Club Champion standings and sitting 3rd in the Region 3 standings and Gigi is doing her part to help get us there. She is currently #1 in points in all pointed dogs. Gigi also has a smoking personal best of 3.479 seconds, run by her junior handler, Alli Tullar. Flyball may be a team sport, and Gigi absolutely knows that her teammates are what make the magic happen. But when you have a dog who consistently brings speed, drive, heart, and a whole lot of “LET'S GO!” to the lane, you have to give her some MVP love! Gigi is fast, competitive, dependable, and always ready to run. She gives her team everything she has every time she hits the lanes and she does it with a personality that makes you smile while she's busy putting points on the board. Gigi may be only one piece of the team, but she's one heck of a piece! For all of these reasons, I proudly nominate Gigi for Region 3 MVP! |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 3 |
|---|
| On Target's Mystery Solved Riddle - Mix, CRN 200097, (574) High Velocity, Stacie Mutzberg |
| Nominated by: Neil Flood, (2) Animal Inn, Forest Lake, MN, US |
Our club has raced against Riddle for her entire racing career, and High Velocity has been our closest regional rival throughout that time. While their club has an exceptional stable of dogs, Riddle has consistently proven to be a difference maker. Riddle is their height and start dog, and it's not uncommon for her to also be their fastest dog. Not only does she set the pace for her team with exceptional speed for a height dog, but she is also incredibly consistent and durable. It certainly doesn’t hurt that her handler does an excellent job starting her. Having your height dog start the race with an excellent start time, exceptional speed, and very few mistakes consistently sets a team up for success??"and makes them incredibly challenging to race against. Riddle has done exactly that throughout her career. Her performance has directly contributed to multiple Regional Championships and a NAFA Championship. As one of High Velocity’s closest regional competitors, we have had plenty of opportunities to see firsthand the impact Riddle has on their success. She has unquestionably been one of the best and most impactful dogs we have raced against. She is exceptionally deserving of recognition as the Region 3 MVP. |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 4 |
|---|
| Mickey - English Cocker Spaniel, CRN 210100, (459) Ruff Position, Kristin Adams |
| Nominated by: Carl Gavin, (459) Ruff Position, Madison, WI, US |
We're honored to nominate Mickey for Region 4 MVP. Mickey is a rescue dog who was surrendered to a rural Kentucky shelter as a failed hunting dog. After being adopted in 2019, he began his flyball journey in 2020 with a Madison, Wisconsin club. About a year and a half later, Mickey and his owner, Kristin Adams, joined the Ruff Position Flyball Team. Their first tournament was a disaster. Mickey was terrified and wouldn’t go near the racing building. With a history of noise phobia and generalized anxiety, he needed time to build confidence. Kristin spent the winter of 2021??"2022 working with him, and Mickey made his tournament debut in spring 2022. Taking things slowly, Mickey gained confidence and soon became a dependable full-time racer. He rarely bobbled, never missed a jump, and never spit. He could run in any position and pass any type of dog. He became a height dog for many tournaments, including two CanAm regular teams, helping one win its finals. At about 9½ years old, Mickey retired at CanAm 2026 after earning his 50K title. From a frightened rescue dog to a trusted and accomplished competitor, Mickey’s journey is a true testament to patience, perseverance, and trust. |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 4 |
|---|
| Star - Labrador Retriever, CRN 170076, (631) Rapids Intens-A-Flyrs, Lori Whitney |
| Nominated by: Lana Luhring, (899) Outrun, Center Point, IA, |
Star is deserving of the Region 4 MVP award. Star has earned her Irondog and a total of 78,478 career points. Star has played on RIF, often running start and always a valued member of the club teaching new dogs to pass and play flyball. This labrador ran in more than 30 NAFA tournaments last year as a senior. Tom and Lori represent what is important in flyball - having fun and competing with our K9 partners. RIF has never had a dog named MVP and this pup has overcome some injuries to be the highest pointed dog on their roster. This dog was active in racing last year and certainly deserves your vote. Even as an older teammate Star is always ready to race. |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 6 |
|---|
| Mazie - Rat Terrier, CRN 220066, (874) Arizona Supercharged, Kathleen Fischer |
| Nominated by: Kristin Montoya, (874) Arizona Supercharged, Mesa, AZ, US |
I'd like to nominate Mazie, a nearly 8yr Rat Terrier owned by Kate Fischer for Region 6 MVP. Mazie is a 7" height dog and is a key contributor to our team, and our various Regional Championship titles including our 2023 and 2024 Multibreed Regional Championship and our 2026 Regular and Regular Overall Club Championship titles. Mazie may be small in stature, but she's got a large personality - often letting her thoughts be known about her foot wraps, or taking up as much space in the lane as a 100lb Shepherd. She's a solid teammate, able to run in numerous positions and helping to train our up and coming dogs. Kate didn't originally plan to do flyball with Mazie, she signed up for classes with her after being out of flyball for a couple years to do some cross training to help her agility career, but it was clear that flyball was where Mazie wanted to be. We're grateful that Mazie brought Kate back into flyball and has made such an impact on our team and the Region. |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 7 |
|---|
| Cider - Mix, CRN 230004, (1145) Unlimited Pawsibilities, Christy Munro |
| Nominated by: Chris Eddy, (1145) Unlimited Pawsibilities, Des Moines, WA, US |
My club, Unlimited Pawsibilities, and I nominate Cider for Region 7 MVP. Cider is only 4 years old, but is rock solid. At the last tournament he got a perfect start and PB 4.067. He can run for anyone in any position, pass any dog and has clean times in the low 4’s. He is a joy to run and an asset for handlers to learn with. He helps train dogs on passing and distraction since he is unfazed but brings the energy and consistency. He ran at CanAm in 2025 as a savage height dog and was flawless. His owner can hand him off to anyone and be in the lane or in a completely different ring and he will do his job. He has traveled to tournaments in Alaska, Indiana, California, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, BC and Saskatchewan and has gone on flyball roadtrips without his owner and traveled beautifully. In the first tournament of the 2026 flyball year he earned his FMX title then in June he earned his FMCh in Alaska. We are so proud to call him our teammate and we are looking forward to many more years and adventures in the lane with this awesome boy. |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 8 |
|---|
| Holly - Border Collie, CRN 170199, (470) Diamonds in the Ruff, Rebecca Mitchell |
| Nominated by: Karen Machin, (470) Diamonds in the Ruff, Saskatoon, SK, CA |
Diamonds in the Ruff would like to nominate Holly for Regional MVP. Holly is the definition of a dependable flyball dog. Holly was an extremely consistent and versatile flyball dog. She could run in any position and for virtually anyone, making her invaluable when lineups or handlers needed to change. Many new handlers learned to pass and compete with Holly because they could focus on developing their own skills while trusting her to do her job. As long as someone was willing to play with her, Holly was ready to race. She was also intensely competitive and very aware of the dog in the other lane. When starting, she would often check the competition and a little "stink-eye" as her version of trash talking. Holly earned more than 40,000 points during her career, but her value to the club went beyond her accomplishments. She was a reliable competitor, a remarkably adaptable teammate, and a dog who helped many people become better flyball handlers. Holly is retired now and we miss her. |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 8 |
|---|
| Seeker - Mix, CRN 190588, (43) C.O.K.C. High Flyers, Dan Kallen |
| Nominated by: Angie Young, (43) C.O.K.C. High Flyers, Brandon, MB, CA |
Seeker started her career in 2019 racing one tournament before covid hit. She came back after covid as a new dog but ran like a seasoned pro. Since then, you can rely on her to always run wherever you need her and always complete her race. This girl has so much try and heart in her, especially with the past she has (IYKYK). To see her become the dog she is today is heart warming. At 9 years old, she still gives her all running under 4.0’s. She is an incredible dog who I have had the honour of getting to race and race with. To see her win this award would be well deserved for her, as she is a true M.V.P. both on the lanes and off of them after overcoming so many things in her life. She is our solid, reliable, steady Eddie. Our team wouldn’t be complete without her there. She’s the kind of dog you can always count on. |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 9 |
|---|
| Fizz - Mix, CRN 190601, (357) DogDash, Teresa Pownall |
| Nominated by: Tracy Sklenar, (357) DogDash, Powhatan, VA, US |
Fizz (also known as The Fizz) is a small but mighty competitor. A tremendously competitive height dog, she is force in the lane and also a fantastic helper dog who has taught many young dogs how to be successful in the lanes. She has also pumped up the confidence of dogs who might be struggling by lending her excellent singing voice to the ring. She is a true MVP: fierce competitor, valuable teammate, excellent instructor of up-and-comers. |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 9 |
|---|
| Hazelnut - Mix, CRN 210204, (1095) Party Barkers, Tyler Myers |
| Nominated by: Emily Allred, (1072) That's So Fetch, Hopkins, SC, US |
Party Barkers has a lot of phenomenal dogs, but time and time again, Hazelnut has proven herself to be a rock-steady cornerstone of their club. She is always reliable, adaptable, and a joy to watch. She embodies everything you want in a flyball dog and consistently shows what a great flyball dog should be. Hazelnut truly exemplifies the heart of a Regional MVP. |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 9 |
|---|
| Queso - Mix, CRN 210269, (171) Fur Fun, Shelly Switick |
| Nominated by: Mary-Ellen Stokes, (171) Fur Fun, Burlington, NC, US |
Queso is just an all-around phenomenal dog. She knows her job and does it well, every single time. She was one of the first dogs in our region consistently running 3.5s, and she’s helped teach countless dogs, humans, and kiddos the pattern. Her turns are basically legendary. The other Fur Funnies allegedly fight over who gets to pass into Queso because she is just THAT consistent. If there is a flag on Queso, it's handler error not her! Shelly taught Queso flyball during COVID times… or did Queso teach herself? She showed up to her first tournament like she’d been playing her whole life. Her attitude was basically, “What, like it’s hard?” Everyone dreams of having a dog like Queso. Fast, reliable, ridiculously consistent, and always ready to do her job for anyone, anywhere, anytime. I honestly can’t think of a more deserving dog for MVP. Queso is the whole package and then some. |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 9 |
|---|
| Smitty - Border Collie, CRN 170214, (233) DogGoneFast, Margaret Durman |
| Nominated by: Amy Stewart, (233) DogGoneFast, Raleigh, NC, US |
DogGoneFast is thrilled to nominate Smitty for Region 9 MVP! At 11 years young, this impressive Border Collie, owned and loved by Maggie Durman, has played flyball for a decade, earning over 80,000 points and her Iron Dog award. While those milestones are extraordinary, Smitty’s true MVP spirit lies in her continued dedication to the sport. Smitty is a valuable teammate for two different flyball clubs. Beyond racing for DGF, she stepped up to help a second club build its foundation. Maggie and Smitty regularly travel across state lines to attend practices for both clubs, where Smitty’s rock-solid consistency makes her invaluable for training beginner dogs. Smitty is an all-in kind of dog that is recognizable to most competitors in Region 9. Smitty embodies the heart, generosity, and work ethic that defines Region 9 flyball. Please join us in honoring Smitty’s excellence and sportsmanship with the Region 9 MVP Award! |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 9 |
|---|
| Wicked - Staffordshire Bull Terrier, CRN 140315, (805) New River Rapids, Dirk Elber |
| Nominated by: Laura Kroeger, (1095) Party Barkers, Fuquay-Varina, NC, US |
I am honored to nominate a special, speedy, former teammate - Wicked - for Region 9 MVP consideration. Wicked is an amazing Staffordshire Bull Terrier who ran for New River Rapids in Region 9. Wicked is the flyball dog every club needs. With a fastest time of 4.0X and setting jump heights to 8”, she doubles-up as a height-dog and a “big” dog on any team. Even more rare, she is a purebred for a multi-team. During her 10+ years of racing, Wicked earned her 50K title, received the NAFA Iron Dog Award, and reached #6 all-time among SBTs in NAFA. She was the height-dog for New River Rapids’ Regular and Multi-Club records, 2015 NAFA CanAm Classic Regular 5 and 2016 Regular 4 winning teams and was also selected for the 2016 FurFun Coconut Classic Dream Team. Wicked represents what Region 9 values in our dogs: speed, reliability, toughness, team contribution, and longevity. She was a competitor, a teammate, and a character. Anyone who knew her knew there was nothing halfway about Wicked ??" including her lifetime total of 97 destroyed Jolly Balls. For her accomplishments, resilience, and lasting contribution to Region 9 flyball, Wicked is highly deserving of this nomination. |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 10 |
|---|
| Axle - Mix, CRN 160545, (1002) On My Go!, Sandra Foster |
| Nominated by: Stefani Chouinard, (1002) On My Go!, Mazerolle Settlement, NB, CA |
Axle was found wandering the streets of Montreal in 2016, and his rescuers quickly realized his potential as a sports dog - ie he was A LOT for the average home. Based on only a couple of videos, Sam decided to fly him to Fredericton and hope for the best. As it turned out, Axle was made for flyball! He trained up quickly, with an incredible boxturn that looks exactly the same 10 years later. He exceeded all expectations, consistently running low 4.0s over his 9" jump height, with a pb of 3.86. Axle ran as height dog on our division 1 team for most of his career and was part of our club best time of 15.22 which still stands today as the Region 10 speed record. Now that he is 11 or 12 (we can never be sure of his age) Axle is filling in on teams as needed and remains a valuable addition to any lineup. He received his Iron Dog this year and has over 30,000 NAFA points. In his spare time Axle enjoys destroying anything that gets too close to his crate, his endless spin-bark performances, and diligently keeping the yard free of squirrels. |

| Jixxer - Mix, CRN 190401, (266) Fast 'n FURious, Craig and Shari Dawson |
| Nominated by: Eileen Higginbotham, (266) Fast 'n FURious, Winsloe, PE, CA |
Fast n FURious proudly submits Jixxer for this year's Region 10 MVP. Over his career, Jixxer has been "the little engine that could", rarely making a mistake, often holding down a team as sole height dog, and manning up to help Flat Out remain in Division One for a season as well. Without him, there are times we honestly would not have been able to field a team! This cute push button Staffy/Rat has trained numerous handlers, and his consistent know-his-job demeanor has helped cultivate and proof many of our team dogs over the years. Owned by Shari and Craig, handled by many, and loved by many more, please vote for our special little engine this year! |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 10 |
|---|
| Phantom - Jack Russell Terrier, CRN 150440, (849) Carleton County Flyball, Carol Anne Naves |
| Nominated by: Jenna Stockford, (849) Carleton County Flyball, Florenceville-Bristol, NB, CA |
Phantom has been racing flyball for 11 years and in that time has truly done it all. He has reliably run in every position from start to anchor to in the pack, always stepping up wherever he’s needed. Last year, Phantom reached a huge milestone earning his Onyx Award for 10 years of racing. He continues to race today and is ranked #7 among jack russell terriers in NAFA! Phantoms impact goes further than just his own racing though, as over the years he has helped train a multitude of new dogs and handlers alike. He has remained a consistent and dependable dog and continues to bring his all to every race. |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 10 |
|---|
| Porsche - Border Collie, CRN 160328, (73) F.A.M.E., Barbara Dickson |
| Nominated by: Carl Dingee, (73) F.A.M.E., Riverview, NB, CA |
Porsche is a dog who exhibits heart, drive, a real love of Flyball. Although her days of running 3.7-3.8 are behind her, at 12 1/2, there is still nothing she would rather be doing. She can run in any position, and for any handler, whether she’s never met them before, or they are her new best friend. When she’s not actually in the lanes at Flyball, she spends her time yelling because someone else is taking a turn that she feels should be hers. She also greets everyone, people or dogs, with a huge grin and a full body wiggle. |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 12 |
|---|
| Rogue - Mix, CRN 240632, (684) Redline Dogsports, Riley Johnson |
| Nominated by: Kurt Johnson, (684) Redline Dogsports, Coalhurst, AB, CA |
I humbly nominate Rogue for NAFA R12 Regional MVP. Rogues’ growth and accomplishment has allowed Redline Dogsports to once again be a fixture in our region’s Reg Division 1 class. She is the dog you will always hear before you see. As a height dog that would measure for 5” if the rules permitted, she sets our team height at 7”. You also must pay attention to see her, as she runs a consistent 4.1-4.2 She loves the start position and is working on playing within the pack. Her versatility doesn’t end there as she is also willing to run for anyone on our team. As her big brother Jungle is slowly returning to the ring after defeating cancer, we have all been privileged to put our hands on Rogue as a handler. She is truly a treat to run as all Redline members have found. Her feet are tiny, her legs are tiny, but her voice is strong and her heart is huge. She is the heartbeat of our team and we are so thankful to have her play with us in this sport we love. Kurt Johnson |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 12 |
|---|
| Spice - Mix, CRN 240596, (475) Northern Power Paws, Laura Johnson |
| Nominated by: Tim Martin, (475) Northern Power Paws, Beaumont, AB, CA |
We are thrilled to nominate Spice based on his outstanding contribution as a team dog this racing season. Although Spice is only in his second season of racing, he performs with the confidence and reliability of a seasoned veteran. Spice has a pb of 3.774, but it’s not his speed that is his true value. He and his handler, Laura, have developed into an incredibly dependable team, regularly running a full-time spot and often competing in nearly every heat across both days of a tournament. Spice has also proven his versatility, comfortably running in any position and reliably passing into new dogs as well as allowing new dogs to pass into him. Spice has accumulated an impressive 9,542 points in his career, but his value to our team goes far beyond his point total. In a year when our club has focused on building, training, and??"most importantly??"truly enjoying the team sport of Flyball, Spice and Laura have embodied what it means to be a great teammate. Spice’s consistency, adaptability, enthusiasm, and willingness to step up whenever his team needs him have made him an invaluable part of our racing season. For those reasons, we believe Spice is a deserving Region MVP. |

| Nugget - Labrador Retriever, CRN 220404, (798) Queen City Road Runners, Brandy Ewing |
| Nominated by: Deborah Yoder, (798) Queen City Road Runners, Cumberland Furnace, TN, US |
It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Super Nugget! Able to leap hurdles and backstops in a single bound. Faster than a speeding tennis ball. More powerful than a freight train! The Queen City Road Runners are proud to nominate Eden Farms Gold Star Gentleman, Nugget, for Region 14 MVP. Nugget’s accolades celebrate not just speed and titles, but character and team spirit. Nugget earned ONYX for 20,000 career racing points at 2026 CANAM helping his team to a first place win. Nugget also earned a spot on the 2026 Fur Fun Dream Team. Nugget represents the Labrador on our Multibreed team which boasts Region 14 Multibreed Champion for the past 3 years. Nugget serves as a mentor to pups in training; can run any position, for any handler. Team Nugget is always willing to do whatever is asked of them - an invaluable team on the Road Runners. Nugget’s only vice is his love of the water. He can often be seen taking a quick dip in the creek during training (Who can blame him.) He also leaves a trail of slobbery tennis balls in his wake. Nugget embodies the spirit of a true gentleman - talented, hardworking, and beloved by his teammates. Our MVP! |

| Heidi - Epagneul Breton, CRN 130193, (814) Heads or Tails, Eric Berg |
| Nominated by: Laura Green Berg, (814) Heads or Tails, Roanoke, VA, |
Heidi is a once-in-a-lifetime Flyball machine. At almost 15 years old, she is still actively competing in Flyball. She mostly runs start, only losing about half a second as she's aged. The communication between her and Eric is built on years of experience and understanding. He's able to read her moods and focus, knowing when to move forward or step back to keep her starts under 0.100. And, they're never ones to use a practice start opportunity, instead trusting the intuition between them. She has trained numerous handlers on how to run a dog, and start, including junior handlers. Heidi has been a mainstay of our Multibreed lineups, earning over 40k Multibreed points as well as helping her Multibreed teammates each earn their MB ONYX titles. She also recently earned her HOBBES. |

| Vegemite - Miniature American/Australian Sheph, CRN 160777, (814) Heads or Tails, CJ Fithian |
| Nominated by: Laura Green Berg, (814) Heads or Tails, Roanoke, VA, |
Vegemite has been an integral part of our club since CJ fully joined our club in 2022. Before competing with Heads or Tails, Vegemite has competed on New River Rapids in Region 9 and Surf City Flyball in Region 6. She can run any position, handled by anyone including juniors, and run with any dogs. She has run as both a height dog and pack dog, either way offering a steady presence in the lanes and helping green and nervous dogs focus and calm. In between litters, she has earned her 60k and Irondog. Her puppies can be found throughout multiple regions excelling in Flyball. Recently diagnosed with an aggressive cancer, she will continue to play Flyball as long as she's healthy enough. |

| Whisper - Border Collie, CRN 170782, (751) Scallywags, Russell Bobb |
| Nominated by: Judi Ruff, (751) Scallywags, Baltimore, MD, US |
Scallywags is proud to nominate Whisper for 2026 Region 15 MVP because she was irreplaceable on our team and in our hearts. Whisper was the ROCK of our team, running full-time from the start of her career in 2017 until she crossed the rainbow bridge unexpectedly in the middle of this 2026 season. She earned her HOBBES in Dec 2024 and her IRON DOG in Oct 2025. She was an incredibly consistent start dog. At ten years old, she still ran 3.9-4.1 seconds every heat of a tournament, and her handlers knew they could count on her every time. In addition to her incredible athleticism, Whisper served as a veteran helper dog on our team because nothing distracted her from her job, including green dog shenanigans. During practice and tournaments, she ran for absolutely anyone. She was often the dog we used to hook newcomers on racing, letting them handle "The Ferrari" as her late owner, Russ Bobb always called her. No matter what, you could always find Whisper vibrating with excitement on the sideline as she waited for her turn in the lanes and another chance to do the thing she loved the most - to run the race. |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 16 |
|---|
| Sarge - Australian Shepherd, CRN 220435, (738) Marin Running Riot, Maggie Thompson |
| Nominated by: John Savedra, (904) Pacific Pups, Oakland, CA, US |
Having clinched the Regular Regional title for 2025, after an almost-ten-year absence from winning a Regular or Multibreed title in Region 16, Marin Running Riot is back to their winning ways, and one must ask which of their dogs has the secret sauce which got them back on top? Although many contributed, I say Sarge. Sarge the red merle Aussie helped to power Marin to numerous first place wins in Regular 1 this year. He's solid, consistent, fast, and can run anywhere in the lineup. As I understand it, in addition to running in Regular, he was also frequently a back-up dog on one of their Open teams, sometimes picking up races to support other dogs. He's also a go-to dog for helping with the green dogs in practice. Additionally, he’s attended our practice (Pacific Pups) and helped our dogs. A club MVP should lift their club to a new level. Sarge and Maggie have done that, and the proof is the Region 16 title this year. But Sarge and Maggie have gone beyond helping their club, and helped other dogs and handlers, too. To me, that’s the definition of a Regional MVP. |

| Delta - Mix, CRN 210223, (695) Alaska Dogs Gone Wild, Smith Family |
| Nominated by: Alaska Dogs Gone Wild, (695) Alaska Dogs Gone Wild, Anchorage, AK, US |
A flyball dog like Delta does not come around often. As a highly driven athlete in phenomenal condition, she is extremely consistent, making her a dream to pass into. She starts each tournament running blistering speeds and ends running the same blistering speeds, with a line-to-line PB of 3.604 seconds. She also has a beautiful enviable snappy turn. Delta is incredibly solid and nothing fazes her, making her perfect for helping train green dogs. She is also perfect for training new handlers. Anyone can run her, even kids. She has had at least eight different handlers at practices throughout the last year. Additionally, Delta can run absolutely anywhere in the pack, even with new dogs, never spitting her ball or going around jumps. Her reliability and versatility, along with her stamina, make her an excellent dog for double-listing as a back-up on other teams. Delta is a height dog to boot! She set 9-inches on the multibreed teams that repeatedly broke the ADGW and regional record this year, ending with a 16.088. She was also the height dog that set ADGW's regular record with a 15.2 in 2024. Delta is a rare flyball star who shone especially bright this year. |

| Luv - Mix, CRN 250401, (1137) Switchback, Athena Lund |
| Nominated by: Becca Kreski, (1137) Switchback, Wellington, CO, US |
Luv deserves the regional MVP award because of her contribution to building Switchback from the ground up in the two short years she was with us. Morgan met Luv as a puppy at a local store and encouraged her owner to come to flyball practice. Luv was not specifically bred for flyball, showcasing that flyball is for all dogs. Don't be fooled by her size, she was a force to be reckoned with! After she debuted in a race in August 2025, we pulled her from tournaments to polish up her skills. In July 2026, she re-debuted with no faults, a snappy turn, and a PB of 4.2 that weekend; with wide passes no less! She was everything you could've wanted in a height dog. Luv was the epitome of go slow (in training) to go fast. She had such a bright flyball career ahead of her and we are devastated by the loss of her. She deserves regional MVP as a founding member of Switchback, introducing someone new (her owner) to dog sports, and her ability to make everyone who met her smile. The best ones are gone too soon. We'll miss you, Tiny Tot. |

| Sharp - Mix, CRN 160554, (765) LAUNCH, Susi Evans |
| Nominated by: Russell Evans, (765) LAUNCH, Wheat Ridge, CO, US |
Launch Flyball is pleased to nominate TriHard's Timber's Blade "Sharp" for Region 19 2026 MVP. Sharp is an extraordinarily consistent and winning competitor. She began representing our region on October 7th, 2016 during that year's CANAM. Since then she has competed in 139 tournament days across five states, accumulating 34,365 points and 13 titles, including Iron Dog. Sharp races with heart and a competitive spirit that has led Launch Flyball Club to many victories. Like the very best flyball dogs, she isn't just fast but routinely demonstrates an amazing swimmer's turn on the box. Sharp was our first 3.5 border whippet and for many years has contributed significantly to Launch's success, both in Region 19, and across the country. Extremely friendly, compact, and intelligent, Sharp will run in any position and for any handler and excels both as an start dog and in the pack. She is a joy to run with and, on behalf of all the great dogs and handlers she has raced with over the past years, we feel she is very deserving of MVP recognition. |
| Nomination Regional MVP 2026 - REGION 21 |
|---|
| Wrangler - Siberian Husky, CRN 180070, (532) Skidmarkz, Kelsay Zimmerman |
| Nominated by: Emily Helin, (532) Skidmarkz, Oxford, IA, US |
If there ever was a dog to demonstrate what it means to be a true MVP, Wrangler is that dog. It is pretty doubtful that there is a team in Region 21 that hasn’t used or witnessed her versatility, whether as a borrowed dog, a helper dog, a teacher of dogs and humans alike. She has helped train numerous handlers, but most importantly, she is helping to build the future of our sport by running for any and all of the kids. While impressive, a Multibreed Onyx and 40K hardly begin to explain this girl’s stellar career. Wrangler’s versatility is exceptional for any dog, but especially notable due to the headstrong and vocal personality traits that truly make up a Husky. Wrangler will happily run for anyone willing to dish out snacks…unless they are carb heavy! We are always grateful for our sassy Wrangler Jo and her contribution to the game. |
2026 Nominees for Judge of the Year
| Nomination for Judge of the Year |
|---|
| John Forseth - Blaine, MN |
| Nominated by: Lana Luhring, Center Point, IA, US |
John is being nominated for Judge of the year and is a very worthy candidate. He is a supervising Judge from Minnesota and Region 3 has a lot of tournaments each year - John judges frequently. John has run on teams ranging all classes (Reg. Mult and Open) and has participated on teams of a variety of speeds. While he is an intense competitor, as a judge he is committed to fair outcomes and being consistent in making calls. He is a mentor to young judges and has always been supportive of those who are committed enough to wear the whistle. Judging a sport you love is rewarding. John has recently taken on more responsibility for supervision of the judges. This means extra work behind the scenes to make sure all NAFA training, rules and discipline matters are handled properly. These are the extra hours that are often unseen but make the difference in the level of professionalism you see out in the lanes. For the Forseth family flyball is a family activity with John being joined in the lanes by family. He supports growing flyball as an activity for anyone interested and fair races for all. |
| Nomination for Judge of the Year |
|---|
| Justin Ernst - Blaine, MN |
| Nominated by: Angela Craig, Anoka, MN, US |
I call Justin Ernst “The Judge” not only as a nickname, but out of respect for how he serves in that role. As a NAFA judge for the past 10 years, he has exemplified the best qualities of a Flyball judge: love of the sport, knowledge of the rules, call accuracy, fairness, dedicated service, and commitment to teaching others. Flyball players of all levels benefit from his experience and expertise. When serving as a judge, he makes clear calls, treats all players with respect, and tirelessly explains rules and calls in a thoughtful, patient way to help players learn and improve. He evaluates every team with equal precision as they race and values each dog and handler for their contributions to their team and the sport. While most people are resting between races, Justin rarely takes a break. He helps other judges, troubleshoots equipment issues, and members continuously come up to him for his advice on a variety of Flyball topics. He manages to do it all, in a friendly, approachable manner, even if the day runs long. I recommend Justin for NAFA Judge of the Year. He is an asset to the Flyball community and inspires others by his example. |
| Nomination for Judge of the Year |

| Randy Kenzie - Surrey, BC |
| Nominated by: Christy Munro, Tacoma, WA, US |
Unlimited Pawsibilities would love to nominate Judge Randy Kenzie from our Region 7 for Judge of the year 2026. We are a fairly new club but we as players have been involved in flyball for over 20 years throughout those years we have known Randy Kenzie, he has always been a patient & fair judge. His love for the game shows in everything he does. This year he stands out for us because of the time prior to the tournament he is willing to give to get a tournament including the rings set up properly & fairly. All the hours spent helping figure out the glitches with the new Canine Sports Hub program. He always brings positivity, a sense of humor and a patience for learning each time he steps into the ring. He has been a joy to have as a judge in Region 7 for so many years. We have even had him as a judge during our travels to other regions. We have heard nothing but good & positive responses from those regions. One standout moment was when we had an incident with a dog crossing into one of our teammates dogs with aggression. Randy took the extra time to talk with & support the owners of the dog & to navigate the best way to move forward for that family & dog beyond the time in the ring. Even checking on them throughout the weekend. He is always knowledgeable on the rules & techniques of flyball. We appreciate all his guidance in & out of the ring. Looking forward to many more years sharing our love of flyball with him. Please join us in voting Randy Kenzie for Judge of the Year! |
