She quickly became a solid and essential team dog with a PB time of 4.4 seconds. Fire could run in any position and was often used to help train new/green dogs coming up in flyball. Fire amassed many significant flyball accomplishments. These include: • 2011 - 2016, placed in the top 30 of Top Point Earning Dogs, • #1 Top Point Earning Dogs in 2012 with 25,766 points, • #1 Top Flat Coated Retrievers (FCR), • CanAm 2013 Regular 10 Champion, • CanAm 2014 Multi 3 Runner-Up, • July 2015 earned HOBBES, • First FCR to earn the FGDCH-50K through HOBBES awards, • Only FCR to have earned MB-ONYX and MBGDCH awards, • Fire is #22 in Lifetime Points Ranking. Fire ran with 130 different dogs – among 12 different clubs, and participated in 185 tournaments in 17 states/provinces. People knew when she was in the building because they could hear Chris yelling "FIRE!!!". Fire passed away in May 2017 after a brief illness. She accumulated 122,322 points with 34,775 multibreed points. But what we wouldn't give to hear Chris yell "FIRE!!!" just one more time.

Nomination for the NAFA Clyde Moore Memorial Hall of Fame
Fusion - Mix, CRN 050797, (1011) Breakaway Flyball, Peter Wesdyk
Nominated by: Leah Wesdyk, Regina, SK, CA

Breakaway Flyball would like to nominate Fusion, owned by Peter Wesdyk. Fusion was the first sport mix from Blue Cedar to arrive in Region 8. He Never stopped wagging his tail and loved playing the sport. He began his career as the height dog for Prairie PDQ Dogsports and was on the first team to break into the 16's in Saskatchewan. In his 11 years of racing, Fusion could always be counted on throughout his career and brought up many puppies on the team, helping with side by side recalls even in retirement. Lovingly nicknamed "Fluffy" he was hard to miss on the lanes! Fusion helped us fall in love with these incredible sport mixes and led the way for teams to bring more into the region. He has sired some great flyball dogs and his legacy continues on through all of his offspring and their puppies. We hope you will consider Fusion for the Clyde Moore Hall of Fame.

Nomination for the NAFA Clyde Moore Memorial Hall of Fame
No Clownin' Around - Mix, CRN 040006, (452) DogZworth, Ally Stern-Kolesnikow
Nominated by: Monica Johnny, Bradford, ON, CA

Before Circus and his brother Tangent were born people laughed- a Mini Aussie x Staffy mix? Circus' litter was one of the first North American "sport bred" cross pups without Border Collie in the pedigree. It didn't take long for the laughter to turn to amazement as Circus showed the world his awesome athletic abilities and his eagerness to play the sport he loved- NAFA flyball. At 12 years old he still posted 4.0s. He was Region 20's first MVP. Circus earned his Hobbes exactly 8 years after he debuted. In 2012 he earned his Iron Dog. He was consistent, driven, and he was a huge part of DogZworth's success. Circus earned many special awards. He was intense! Occasionally he was careless when he was tugging. He tore handler's shirts and left a few wounds. He flattened countless tennis balls. He was so much fun to run! Circus died on July 24, 2018. Circus was never bred but his legacy lives on in many of the sport bred mixes since Mini Aussie appears in many of their pedigrees. Dream big, be different. "All of our dreams can come true if we have the courage to peruse them." Walt Disney

Nomination for the NAFA Clyde Moore Memorial Hall of Fame
Solo - Danish-Swedish Farmdog, CRN 020299, (255) Pawdemonium, Debi Lofgren
Nominated by: Karen Green, Redwood City, CA, US

We would like to nominate Han Solo (Solo) for the Hall of Fame. Solo was born March 18, 2001. He was the first U.S. born Danish/Swedish Farmdog. Not only was he a great ambassador for flyball, but was an important foundation dog for establishing Farmdogs in the US. Solo's flyball debut was in April 2002 and his last race was May 2016. During his 14 year career, Solo was the core height dog for Pawdemonium. His teammates appreciated his reliable, consistent running. He could be run by anyone, including children. Solo helped train many handlers and green dogs. Solo was famous for his love of water bottles. His final flyball run was celebrated with the largest collection of water bottles in the runback area. Solo is currently the #3 Farmdog and was the first Farmdog to earn FMX, FMCh, FG50K, and MBDCH-S . His offspring and descendants are continuing the great Farmdog flyball tradition on clubs spread across region 6, 16 and beyond. Solo passed away on September 11, 2018 at the age of 17 1/2. Due to his significant contributions to flyball on the west coast, Solo truly deserves the honor of NAFA Hall of Fame. Respectfully, Bay Racers

Nomination for the NAFA Clyde Moore Memorial Hall of Fame
Strike - Border Collie, CRN 070616, (883) Barkaholics, Lori Robertson
Nominated by: Lori Robertson, Lutz, FL, US

Strike was a rescue I adopted from Border Collie Rescue. It was the best $200 I ever spent! When he was a year old on 11/10/2007 he ran his first tournament just like he had been running flyball for years! He made no mistakes, and was perfect! In his prime he was giving me 3.9 splits. Which, was extraordinary back in the day for a Border Collie! He is an extraordinary dog and loves to race! If he was ever behind, I could actually see him kick into a whole other gear to beat the dog in the other lane, making him a phenomenal anchor dog. In 2015 he was part of the team that won the division 1 championship for the Barkaholics in Region 11! He was very consistent and would run for any handler. He is a phenomenal dog, competitor, teamate and my best friend.I love this guy to the moon and back and hope you will consider his nomination!

REGION 2

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 2
RUIN - Mix, CRN 100536, (490) Spring Loaded, Christine Thomas
Nominated by: Kelly Price, (490) Spring Loaded, Casco, MI,

Ruin is one of the "elder statesmen" on our team and we are proud to nominate him for the 2018 MVP for Region 2. He didn't join Springloaded until 2015, when he was no longer a young dog, but we couldn't be happier to have him. Young, super-fast dogs get a lot of attention but no flyball team is successful without dogs like Ruin - fast, consistent, and giving his all in each and every race. While, at nearly 10 years old, he is now often in a back-up role, that does not diminish his importance to our team in any way. While some teams rarely use their back-up dogs, that is not us. Solid back-ups are a competitive advantage and they make a key contribution to achieving our team goals - be it winning a tournament, gaining regional points, or competing at CanAm. Thank you, Ruin and Christine, for the immeasurable and un-countable times when you have made our team better.

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 2
Shuffle - Mix, CRN 100554, (46) Some Ruff Competition, Glenn & Emma Hamilton and Emily Venator
Nominated by: Barb Stopay, (46) Some Ruff Competition, Innisfil, ON, CA

The second we met Shuffle, we all knew she was something special. Her drive, eagerness and zest for life were evident at only a few months old. She made her debut in April of 2010 and became our primary Multibreed height dog within a few tournaments. She helped us set personal bests in Multi (15.77- 2010), and Regular (14.87 - 2017) as well as winning a Regional Multibreed Championship, a National Multibreed Co-Championship, and many Division 1 wins - all over her own height of 8". She ran in the Can-Am Finals in both 2010 and 2017, making a great display of her athleticism both times. Her enthusiasm for the sport makes her a blast to compete with and to watch. Despite a short time off in Fall of 2016, she is back and continues to awe us with her consistency and spirit. She embodies everything that an MVP should be and continues to exemplify these qualities in her tenth year of racing. Please consider Blue Cedar's iPod Shuffle ' our "once in a lifetime" height dog as your 2018 Region 2 MVP.

REGION 3

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 3
Recon - Australian Shepherd, CRN 140581, (1068) Power UN-leashed, Sue Tullar
Nominated by: Camie Perderson, (1068) Power UN-leashed, Farmington, MN, US

Recon is one of the last Aussies running! He is always consistent and has also ran in the CanAm Classic Multi Breed! With all the mixed breeds out there the Aussie is becoming extinct!!! lol He has been running solid for almost 5 years and can run with any dog in any position. He has helped many new dogs get their start in Flyball being there to help work out issues new dogs have. Recon is one solid dog and Sue has worked hard to get him there. You can't have a better dog on your team than Recon! Recon is Power-UN leashed MVP!!!

REGION 4

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 4
Tyler - Mix, CRN 110237, (142) BC Boomerangs, Anthony Pirnat
Nominated by: Phyllis Martin, (142) BC Boomerangs, Cary, IL, US

I would like to nominate TYLER for Region 4 MVP. Tyler is a 9 year old mix rescued from a shelter after he and his sister Darcy were surrendered. Tyler immediately showed his LOVE for a ball and was soon in Flyball Classes. He LOVED it. Flyball was his sport. Tyler is an amazing Flyball Dog he has participated in over 140 tournament weekends and has earned over 170,000 points. Tyler has played Flyball in 13 states, 7 regions including Alaska and 6 CanAm tournaments. Many members of the Flyball community have assisted in running Tyler while his owner was busy judging or helping other teams. Tyler truly loves Flyball and his extended Flyball family he is worthy candidate to be considered for Region 4 MVP.

REGION 5

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 5
Cayenne - Border Collie, CRN 080821, (343) Alamo Racing Canines, Steve Corona
Nominated by: Jennifer Steede, (343) Alamo Racing Canines, Bee Cave, TX, US

Cayenne is a prime example of the amazing dogs that come from shelters and rescue groups. She was adopted from Border Collie Rescue of Texas (BCRT), and quickly learned flyball, never looking back. Steve and Shelley have since helped many BCRT rescues find their forever homes with Cayenne as their inspiration. Cayenne is also a wonderful ambassador for the sport, and she has participated in numerous flyball demonstrations and tournaments throughout the years. During her flyball career, Cayenne earned both her Iron Dog and FGDCh 50,000 awards, and she was always consistent and precise in the lanes. Additionally, what is so remarkable about Cayenne is the beautiful relationship she and Steve have built through playing flyball. When you see Cayenne and Steve in the lanes, you can tell how much they genuinely love playing flyball together; they are an unforgettable team! Building that kind of loving relationship is what we all hope to do with our dogs and the reason we play flyball with them. Cayenne recently retired from flyball after being diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and is undergoing chemotherapy. She is enjoying retirement as a pampered pooch and is dearly loved by Steve and Shelley Corona.

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 5
Eghan - Mix, CRN 110916, (841) Special Fources, Bill Davis
Nominated by: Malena Cudd, (841) Special Fources, Magnolia, TX, US

Eghan is the epitome of a dog who loves flyball. He will run for for anyone and in any position. And is instrumental in helping train green dogs. The enthusiasm he brings is unmatched by any other dog he runs with. Affectionately known as the dog that always knocks over jumps, and often breaks them...he caresmlittle. Although, early in his career he was well known for being anruly Blue Cedar Terrier and doing his own thing. Eghan is one of a kind and we are fortunate to have him run with us.

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 5
Red - Border Collie, CRN 120566, (642) Texas Twisters, Mike Smith
Nominated by: Mike Smith, (642) Texas Twisters, Alvin, TX, US

Secretariat - "Red" is my border collie heart and soul dog. When I first got him, I knew there was something special about him from the beginning. With the help of Pam Martin and my other teammates, "Red" was off and running into a spectacular flyball career on his 1st birthday! Named after "the horse God built," Secretariat hasn't dissapointed in his performance. He runs because he lives for the sport! Many people have handled him on several teams helping all the other dogs he runs with get their titles while he accumulates his points too. He has been to several other regions to play flyball and runs in any position against any dog large, small, slow or fast! He always looks over at the other lane to see who he is racing because he knows its just that......A RACE!! Many people ask if Red is availble to race on their team. He is the region's number 1 point dog, but he doesn't care about the points he has accumulated over the years, he just runs all out all the time! At 7 1/2 years, he doesn't put those 3.8 - 3.9 times up anymore, but he still tries every heat!!

REGION 6

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 6
Dude - Mix, CRN 080098, (971) K9 Outlaws, Kimberly Kowalski
Nominated by: Kimberly Kowalski, (971) K9 Outlaws, Chandler, AZ, US

Team members throughout Region 6 and 16 know who Dude is. Dude is a handsome 13-year old mix that responds to more names than any in the two regions combines. Lil' Dude, Prancer, Doodles Kowalski, princess–yes princess because of his ballerina like racing form in the lanes. Dude made his debut on a new to the sport team in the summer of 2008. Dude quickly picked up the sport and became the bedrock to this and his current team. Along his illustrious journey in the lanes, Dude has turned left, right, ran every spot in the line-up and has even earned a perfect start! While Dude nears the ripe age of 14, he is enjoying his retirement years. Because of his mom's hard work and consummate care, he has achieved great success in the sport he loves earning his ONYX award in 2013, his IRONDDOG award in 2016 and his Flyball Dog Grand Champion award in 2017–yes, at the ripe and still racing age of 13! He may have a funny looking set of chompers but with his smiley ball facing out as he comes down the lane, Dude smiles right back, grabs his ball and prances back to Kim.

REGION 7

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 7
Luka - Golden Retriever, CRN 090586, (1041) Ruffin' Tuff, Kris McBride
Nominated by: Jeanelle Stull, (1041) Ruffin' Tuff, Burien, WA, US

On the behalf of Ruffin' Tuff Flyball, it is my privilege to nominate Luka (CRN 090586) as the MVP for Region 7. Luka began her flyball career on October 25, 2009. She is now closing in on 50,000 career points and will earn her Iron Dog title this November. Luka is the epitome of a flyball dog. Whatever team she runs with knows that Luka is dependable. She is rock steady in the lanes. She knows her job and does it without flaw. Because she is so consistent, Luka has been relied upon to train innumerable dogs and handlers that are new to the sport. She has contributed to the success of many dogs and handlers in the region! She is also one of those great teammates that will run for anyone, in any position. Moreover, she does it all with a big smile on her face.

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 7
Sadie - , CRN 081191, (749) Portland Tail Blazers, Carrie Niemiec
Nominated by: Nancy Westrell, (749) Portland Tail Blazers, Gresham, OR, US

Flyball Prodigy Sadie progressed from her first class to racing full time in a ridiculously short two months. At her first tournament in 2008, she earned FD, FDX and FDCH, missing FDCH-Silver by 24 points. Sadie had a rough start in life, with two previous homes before being adopted through Craigslist. Her third home was the charm, though she brought along some baggage. Terrified of men, she had issues with male box-loaders and/or box judges. Region 7 men successfully wooed her with treats and sweet talk. Although she loved flyball, she was also a runner. Once we had to coax her out from under a pickup truck. For two days, Region 7 folks sprang into action and guarded the ring and doors whenever she was racing. She eventually decided it was really better just to go back to her handler. She's been a steady height dog for Dogs Just Wanna Have Fun and Portland Tail Blazers ever since. In keeping with her overachievement theme, she earned Irondog and FG40K at the same tournament in 2017. We hope she keeps racing so her human siblings become junior handlers with her, to get the next generation of flyballers up and running.

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 7
Tina - Labrador Retriever, CRN 090263, (219) Jet City Jumpers, Rudy Rogers
Nominated by: Julie LaPrarie, (219) Jet City Jumpers, Issaquah, WA, US

Tina watched flyball as a puppy, raised/trained by a member for Canine Companions for Independence, and, as we like to say, intentionally pooped in Target so she would "flunk out" and play flyball with Rudy as her career. Tina was a very valuable member of our team during her racing career - consistently running mid 4's, for multiple handlers and could pass or be passed by any dog, allowing her to run in any position. She also supported the region over the years by running open with several teams. Tina loved her tug so much Rudy would have to lift her back feet off the ground to get her to drop it. She had two major surgeries during her 10 year career and was able to return to flyball after both. She ran in 131 NAFA tournaments over the years in WA, OR, CA, ID, AZ and BC, and even started training some of our junior handlers before retiring with her 40k plaque and Iron Dog Award in May of this year. We will miss having Tina Bean racing with us and believe she embodies what it means to be MVP and we hope you do as well.

REGION 8

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 8
Commix - Mix, CRN 080119, (933) U.F.C.C., Cindy Gutwein
Nominated by: Ally Boni, (43) C.O.K.C. High Flyers, Brandon, MB, CA

I am honoured to write to you today to nominate N'Seine's Commix for the 2018 Regional MVP Award for Region 8. Commix was born on Nov 21, 2006, and started racing on New Year's Eve, 2007. Commix exploded onto the lanes and was originally an 11" height dog for his Division 1 team in Region 8. It was hard to miss this little black blur as he would come out literally screaming on the lanes! Commix lives to go FAST! He helped his team set numerous best times and he, himself, holds a PB of 3.76, which he set on 11s! Commix had such a fast turn that it was impossible to pass well into him, so one tournament Commix showed up with bleach blonde hair, which made it easier for his teammates to pass into him! Commix ran for anyone and would insist that you tug with him while he waited for his turn to race! Commix's love of the game still holds strong at almost 12 years old and can be seen in the 3 litters of pups he sired. I am fortunate to own one of his incredible puppies who carries the same love of the game!

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 8
Rudy - Mix, CRN 070580, (1021) High Octane Flyball, Rebecca Marsh
Nominated by: Jeremy Caissie, (1021) High Octane Flyball, Saskatoon, SK, CA

Rudy is a rescue dog adopted by Rebecca in 2005 from the Saskatoon SPCA. He became her first Flyball dog in May 2007. In his younger days Rudy had a PB of 4.1 and helped his first club set multiple club records. Rudy now plays for High Octane Flyball and, although he's almost 14 years old, his joy to play the game of Flyball has not diminished. He still loves to run a couple races a day for anybody in any position on any team and rarely puts a paw wrong. Rudy became an iron dog in 2016, is still the highest pointing active running dog in the Saskatoon area, and recently achieved his 70,000 points title. Rudy is a very solid dog who helps introduce new handlers to the sport, helps green dogs integrate into the team, and helps new dogs learn to pass. He is a once in a lifetime dog and treats every person and dog he meets as his best friend. A beloved member of his family and of his Flyball club, High Octane Flyball would like to nominate Rudy for region 8 mvp.

REGION 9

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 9
Weezy - Boston Terrier, CRN 081139, (163) Hairier Jump Jets, Donna Stier
Nominated by: Lisa Daum, (163) Hairier Jump Jets, Portsmouth, VA, US

Hairier Jump Jets would like to nominate Jeez Louise Just Do it (Weezy) for the 2018 Region 9 MVP Award. Weezy, a Boston Terrier, began her flyball career on March 14, 2009 and earned her Onyx on February 10, 2018 at 12 years old. In the lanes, Weezy gave her mom Donna 110% in every race. Weezy has been an amazing height dog for not only our team but many other teams in Region 9 as well. She has been our teams go to dog while training up and coming dogs as well as new handlers. Weezy could be run by anyone on our team even with her mom in the lanes. Weezy was an invaluable member of the Hairier Jump Jets team and is very deserving of this award. She would be an excellent candidate to be selected as the MVP for Region 9.

REGION 10

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 10
Callie - Border Collie, CRN 120764, (717) Prepare for Takeoff, Dave Matheson
Nominated by: Holly Kirkpatrick, (717) Prepare for Takeoff, Rusagonis, NB, CA

Prepare for Takeoff would like to nominate Callie, our rock steady Border Collie for Region 10 MVP. Callie started her flyball training at the age of 2 and has been the easiest dog to date that our team has ever trained. In her first year of racing, Callie rocketed from Rookie of the Year to rock steady Veteran dog on our A team. Callie's personal best time stands at 3.845 seconds over 10", she can run in any position and has been handled by pretty much everyone on our team. She has been part of every one of our Regional Championship teams (2012-2013; 2014-2015; 2015-2016; 2016-2017 and 2017-2018) and Regional Speed Record teams since she started racing. She also helped us race to a new club PB this year of 15.350 seconds. At practice, Callie is called on to help train new dogs. She is quiet, but emits an intense energy. That is why she is the perfect test for Green Dogs and has pushed countless veteran dogs to new PB's. It has even been noted by other clubs in our Region that their dogs LOVE racing against Callie! We hope you will consider Callie for our Region 10 MVP!

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 10
Grip - Border Collie, CRN 150399, (266) Fast 'n FURious, Diana Murphy
Nominated by: Eileen Higginbotham, (266) Fast 'n FURious, Winsloe, PE, CA

Rocket Relay's Get a "Grip" is our club choice to go forward for this year's Region 10's MVP. Grip is the total package- handsome, smart, and fast! A key player on our Airwave team, he puts his full heart into every run, and has helped his team secure several new personal bests. On top of that, his ability to tear up the mats helped Airwave finally break into the 15's after several years of trying! Capable of running for several handlers, with several dogs, in every position, he has found his niche as a powerhouse start dog. Of course, every great flyball dog is a pet first. Grip loves the country life; hiking the Bonshaw trails with his momma, snuggling with his dadda, and loving on his kids when they are around! Not just another pretty face, Grip has demonstrated his talent at disc and has plans for more! We hope you all find Grip as worthy of this recognition as we do!

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 10
Tavi - Mix, CRN 110685, (73) F.A.M.E., Jules Comeau
Nominated by: Cyril Edmonds, (73) F.A.M.E., Riverview, NB, CA

Tavi was born in 2010 and, in his first race with FAME, he helped lower the club record by over 0.6 seconds! He very quickly became FAME's A-team height dog setting jumps at 9 inches and, over his 7-year racing career, helped lower FAME's club record 10 times including the current record and capture top-three honors in the regional championship five times. He has run in over 70 tournaments, in 3 provinces and 4 states, and has traveled to tournaments with team members on a few occasions when they needed a reliable height dog. He is nearing 60,000 racing points, has a lifetime personal best of 3.92 seconds and, at 8 years old, still runs full time as a height dog in most tournaments. Tavi is known as a fierce competitor who loves to race and often runs as fast on Sunday afternoon as he runs on Saturday morning. He is very consistent, can run in any position, with any dog and be run by any handler. With his great temperament and fierce competitive spirit, this little guy is a great ambassador for the sport of flyball. Tavi is owned and loved by Mireille LeBlanc and Jules Comeau.

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 10
Zedd - Border Collie, CRN 080532, (1002) On My Go!, Andrea Donovan
Nominated by: Amanda Keddy, (1002) On My Go!, Mazerolle Settlement, NB, CA

Zedd is an 11 year old border collie that runs with On My Go! Flyball club. Zedd started racing in 2008 and has never looked back! He holds his iron dog title and his FG70K which he earned this past season. Zedd is now an official Iron Dog but in his prime he helped set club records and acquire regional points. He is a workhorse who gives his all; solid and steady, Zedd has helped many dogs achieve success over the years, and has been a great dog for new handlers to learn the ropes! Zedd adores the sport and will happily run for anyone, in any position but is happiest when running for his momma :) Please consider Zedd for Region 10 MVP!

REGION 11

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 11
Dottie - Rat Terrier, CRN 081094, (240) Waverunners, Lane Kemmerick
Nominated by: Stacy Santarone, (240) Waverunners, Plantation, FL, US

I am nominating Dottie MB-Onyx FGDCh-40K Iron Dog owned by Lane Kemmerick for Region 11 MVP. Dottie started her Flyball career in May 2009, reaching MB-Onyx in April 2014, FGDCh-40K at CanAm in 2015, Iron Dog at CanAm in 2017 and No. 11 Rat Terrier. She has raced in over 160 tournaments in FL, GA, NC and VA and every CanAm since the inaugural event in 2009. Lane pulled a skinny street dog from the pound in 2008 and started training her for Flyball. Thanks to the Storm Riders Captain, Dottie became a Waverunner because we needed a height dog and Storm Riders had several. That led to a wonderful friendship besides having a great height dog. Dottie is consistent, can run for anyone in any position and has helped many dogs get their start in Flyball. I have great memories of Dottie competing, whether calling her from the box, cheering for her in the runback or running her myself. It was only fitting that she retired the Height Dog With A Heart Award in 2014, given annually at our Tropic tournament since 2003. I am proud to nominate Dottie and hope that you'll join me in voting for her.

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 11
Shelby - Border Collie, CRN 120200, (883) Barkaholics, Christine Heckman
Nominated by: Barkaholics Barkaholics, (883) Barkaholics, Sarasota, FL, US

Barkaholic's submit Shelby for Region 11 MVP. Shelby is a loyal and consistent player. Shelby started racing in 2012. She has accumulated more than 37,000 points (earning her Grand Champion title), and over 8,000 multibreed points. Shelby has been on two teams that won in CanAm Divisional Finals and also has helped Barkaholic's win the Multibreed Regional Championships this year. She raced for a while with the Barkaholics Division 1 Regular Team that also placed first in our region while she was on the team. Shelby ran on our first team to break into the 17 second range. While not the fastest dog on the team but certainly having the most fun earning her nickname, Shelby, Party of One. Shelby is a rock solid dog that can run with anyone, any position, and remain consistent throughout a race weekend. Christine and Shelby are at most every tournament with smiles on their faces. Shelby's often used to break in new dogs in drills and head to heads. Shelby will run at her 6th Can Am Competition this year. She is an extraordinarily valuable dog for Barkaholic's. While her career is far from over, we believe she is a MVP today.

REGION 12

DUSTY - Mix, CRN 110349, (942) Adrenaline Drive, SHIRLEY KERKHOF
Nominated by: Leanne Bishop, (542) Tailwind Flyball Club, Airdrie, AB, CA

Dusty is a 9 year old Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog Mix. She has been running flyball for 7.5 years. Dusty has travelled all over North America playing flyball on numerous open teams. She even competed on a multi international team which included dogs from Canada, the US and Japan at CanAm. Dusty travels with her team - Adrenaline Drive - with or without her Mom and will run for several different handlers, in any position on the team. Dusty has helped many green dogs get their confidence by being smart and savvy on the lanes, knowing when she can be her crazy self and when she needs to tone it down just a bit. She is the perfect all-around dog cementing her team together and running a consistent 4.4 at 9 years old.

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 12
Razza - Border Collie, CRN 090546, (853) Aftershock, Alysa Lindberg
Nominated by: Nancy Thornton, (853) Aftershock, Calgary, AB, CA

Razza is that dog that all of us wishes we had on our team. She is that dog that will run for anyone, anywhere in the lineup and always be consistent, she is still one of the fastest Border Collie's at 10 years of age. Even though Razza was supposed to be my dog I am so proud of Alysa and all that she has achieved with Razza and not just in the flyball lanes. Razza is that dog that goes with another handler for the weekend to race because a team is short a dog, Razza is that dog that that helps green handlers learn how to play the game and Razza is that dog that plays with her boys and earns Jr Handler pins. Yes Razza is that dog that all us wishes we had on our team and Aftershock is so lucky to have her be part of our team...Go Ginga Ninja's!!!

REGION 13

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 13
Mattingly - Border Collie, CRN 070696, (382) Wicked Runners, Cynthia Henderson
Nominated by: Dave Strauss, (382) Wicked Runners, Grafton, MA, US

Peachy Keens Yankee Captain "Mattingly", FGDCh60, Irondog, until his retirement at the 2017 CanAm Classic was the mainstay and backbone of many of the Weston Whirlwinds best teams. He was the quintessential start dog, willing to run over (and over and over) with amazing consistency, and when he hit the tug it could take your breath away. He was so automatic that he would often have a different handler for each race in a tournament - a useful characteristic since the team often went to tournaments short handed and needed to borrow handlers from other clubs. He was an absolute joy to run. We lost track of how many perfect starts he had. He ran on both the Regular and Multibreed teams that posted the fastest times for the club. He competed in the first nine CanAm Classics, and would be running again this year at the tenth if he hadn't decided that running around the jumps was a better game than running over them. I can't think of a dog that more deserves the honor of being named Regional MVP than Mattingly.

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 13
StingRay! - Mix, CRN 090002, (500) Ruff Enuff, Sue Bonofiglio
Nominated by: Bonnie Deschenes, (500) Ruff Enuff, Canterbury, CT, US

StingRay! is an amazing dog. She's been running in flyball since she was 1 year old and is currently still running at almost age 11! StingRay! has been to 8 Can Am's and has been in the finals 7 times! She participated on teams that have earned 3rd place in Regular, Reserve champs (twice) and on a Champion Multi-breed team once. She's earned 22 NAFA titles including the Iron Dog award. Within Region, she's been on a Regional Championship team several times. StingRay! was one of the first height dogs in our Region to hit a 3.7 second time. She can run in any position and has a killer re-run! She's run in 7 different regions and has racked up over 75,000 points! Aside from flyball, she's participated in frisbee, dock diving, agility, treiball and nosework. Please consider her for the 2018 Region 13 MVP. Thank you, Bonnie Deschenes

REGION 14

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 14
Gabrielle - Papillon, CRN 080107, (906) Dixie Flyers, Diane Ziegler
Nominated by: Jeanne Harem, (906) Dixie Flyers, Bessemer, AL, US

The Dixie Flyers feel honored to nominate "Gabby" for the Region 14 MVP. Gabby was found amongst the strawberry fields of Plant City Florida at 10 weeks old and started her training soon after. Gabby started racing May 2008, she earned her Iron Dog in October 2016 and Hobbes Award March 2018, and is currently the #1 Papillon in NAFA. She will run for anyone that is in possession of her coveted bag of chicken treats! She has always been a perfect dog to train new or young handlers as she loves flyball with all of her heart. She races with great spirit, loves barking at the border collies as they race ahead of her. She has exceeded most expectations for a small dog in flyball and she continues to race as a valued height dog for Dixie Flyers. I believe that she could run herself if she knew how to read the tape measure. She has truly been an MVP since as a height dog she will run for anyone and has been seen running the lanes for many different clubs.

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 14
Vito - Mix, CRN 080741, (634) Chattanooga Chomp, Kate and Trey Corum
Nominated by: Danie Arnt, (704) Lunatic Fringe, Cartersville, GA, US

On behalf of Lunatic Fringe, I would like to nominate Vito from Chattanooga Chomp for Region 14's MVP. Vito is a super-speedy and rock solid border-staffy who began his career in 2008 with The Gamblers where he quickly became a keystone member of their club. After the Gamblers club retired, Vito became an early member of the Dixie Flyers in 2011 where he helped that club to establish itself and helped many green dogs and handlers learn the ropes of flyball. In 2015, Vito moved to the Chattanooga Chomp where he helped rebuild that organization into the resurgent club it is today. Vito does all the things you expect of an MVP: he runs in any position, with any dogs and for any handler, including his 3 year old human "brother" William, much to both of their delight! Vito has a special something that just makes other dogs love him. He's so solid and imperturbable that he is the go to dog for teaching green dogs to pass and race in the other lane. Vito earned his Iron Dog in December of 2016, but he is still going strong. There is no better choice for MVP this year than Vito.

REGION 16

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 16
Cannon - Australian Cattle Dog, CRN 120456, (904) Pacific Pups, Michelle Largent
Nominated by: Donna Hoerner, (411) Silver Streaks, Reno, NV,

Cannon is a 7-year old Australian cattle dog with the heart of a lion. I remember the first day I saw Cannon not quite a year old at the Truckee, CA tournament as Michelle's foster. I reflected then, Michelle would keep that amazing dog. Cannon has dominated in many dog sports: barn hunt, dock jumping, disc dog, lure coursing, yet Flyball is his love. Cannon can run in any position, with nearly any handler, these recent years with junior handlers. Cannon is a huge, steady, solid influence when training green dogs. Cannon gives 100% every single time he steps onto the Flyball field. In dealing with some injuries, his level of sheer determination and hard work never keep him far from the lanes. Our Flyball community near and far recognizes what truly an amazing dog Cannon is. A year and a half ago, hundreds rallied behind Cannon and Michelle to help raise money during his near fatal diagnosis of leptospirosis. Against all odds, Cannon not only valiantly fought so hard and survived, he also has come back stronger, and racing again with passion back in the lanes. I can't think of any dog that deserves MVP more than Cannon.

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 16
Heist - Mix, CRN 160304, (481) Bay Racers, Suzanne Mah
Nominated by: Karen Green, (481) Bay Racers, San Carlos, CA, US

Bay Racers would like to nominate Tempest Smash and Grab (call name: Heist) for Region 16 MVP. At the beginning of the 2018 season, our club's primary height dog was stricken with acute, sudden blindness. The first tournament of the year, we decided to try Heist as a height dog at 10". She stepped in and barely slowed down. With Heist as a height dog, we were able to set club personal best times repeatedly over the course of the year. Heist has been Bay Racer's MVP this year and we thank you for considering her for Region 16 MVP.

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 16
Olive - Mix, CRN 100269, (923) SoCal Frequent Flyers, Sue & Phil Cohen
Nominated by: Elaine Alston, (923) SoCal Frequent Flyers, Monarch Beach, CA, US

Olive is a very special little black dog owned and handled by Susan K. Cohen. Olive is a Mummy's dog who turns 10 this November 30th. Olive has been deaf in her left ear since birth but that has not held her back. On June 17, 2018, Olive earned her HOBBES. Along the way she helped many a SoCal Frequent Flyers handling team reach point titles. She helped SoCal Frequent Flyers become regional and multi-breed champions for several years. She is SoCal Frequent Flyers' ultimate "closer". Her speed and determination to beat the dog in the other lane is always a crowd pleaser. She simply does not like to lose. She is respected throughout both NAFA Region 6 and 16 has having the best little dog box turn. She literally turns her whole body in the air barely touching the box. It is exciting to report that Olive will be earning her Iron Dog award this coming racing year. Hopefully she will have many more years to run. It is pure joy to watch Olive and Sue interact on the flyball field for the love and respect shared between them shines through.

REGION 18

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 18
Deja - Shetland Sheepdog, CRN 100624, (910) Pawsitive Synergy, Wayne Bell
Nominated by: Alaska Dogs Gone Wild, (695) Alaska Dogs Gone Wild, Anchorage, AK, US

Deja is a beautiful blue merle Sheltie princess who has grit and determination. Throughout the 2018 racing year, Deja’s club Pawsitive Synergy frequently double-listed her--not so she could run extra or earn additional points, but because she is such a reliable dog. Deja has saved the day on numerous occasions by either relieving a green dog or taking the place of an experienced dog who needed to be pulled. A true stalwart of Region 18, Deja has run on open teams for all three of the clubs in our region. Her versatility is far-reaching in that she can be handled by anyone; it would be difficult to count the number of people who have had this privilege. As a coveted purebred height dog combo, Deja also helped make history during the 2018 racing year by running on a multibreed team—the first time this class was ever run in Alaska. Deja's MVP nomination would not be complete without mentioning that she has a fantastic box turn, to which many aspire. Deja is truly a worthy candidate for MVP; she is not only a princess but a hero too!

REGION 19

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 19
Axl - Mix, CRN 071168, (810) Denver Speed Demons, Jackie Dishmon
Nominated by: Lydia Goggin, (1070) Be Right Back, Milliken, CO, US

I'd like to nominate Axl Rose for Region 19 MVP. Axl, who is sadly retiring this year, has been a force in our region for many years. She is a flyball machine who can be run by anyone, with anyone, and in any position. She never missed a step- never even so much as bobbled a ball- in all they years I have known her. She has been thrown in as emergency backup and has been the consistent, experienced dog on too many green teams to count, sometimes even running full time on 2 teams. She has been used to teach many new dogs, as well, outside of tournaments.

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 19
Boogie - Border Collie, CRN 100800, (809) Westside Woofers, Scott Wilhelm
Nominated by: Cathy Stampe, (809) Westside Woofers, Grand Junction, CO, US

Boogie started racing in 2010 at 2 years old. He has competed in the 3 states of Region 19 plus others. He was one of the original woofers and provided speed for the team. We nicknamed him "Obi-Wan Kenobi" due to he was "our only hope". Boogie loves the sport so much that he can run with any handler, and has even traveled to a few tournaments with others when Scott could not attend, (so that the Woofers could make time). When we recruit new students, Scott would allow them to run Boogie, and they became hooked. Sometimes a new handler would get frustrated and feel like dropping out, they would run Boogie, get excited and hang in there and finish training their dog. Boogie even got Scott's wife sold on the sport! Boogie received his Onyx June 2018, and will receive his Iron Dog at the next tournament. He is a great example of the "passion & joy of flyball".

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 19
Kali - Parson Russell Terrier, CRN 140106, (401) RUFF, Zoe Callas
Nominated by: Laura Sheldon, (401) RUFF, Englewood, CO, US

RUFF would like to nominate Kali for the Region 19 MVP. Kali is a spunky Parson Russell Terrier who stole our hearts from day one. She started her career as an invaluable height dog and we can always count on her to go down and back. Her unflappable demeanor quickly made her the dog of choice when teaching new dogs to pass. Kali is so much fun to watch. When people see her at demos they want to come play flyball with their dogs too. Ambassador and teacher, Kali is the best.

REGION 20

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 20
Flex - Mix, CRN 100130, (1019) Muscle Memory, Jane Lebel
Nominated by: Alain Charest, (1019) Muscle Memory, Gatineau, QC, CA

I would like to nominate -Flex- one of the original Border Whippets as the most valuable dog on our team and in Region 20. Flex has been playing flyball for years. He has attained his NAFA FMCH and he's points away from having the 20,000 title. He's a solid flyball dog backing up the A team and contributing to us winning Regional Championships 2 years in a row (2017 & 2018). He also helped out other teams by playing in the open division. He can fill any spot and run for any handler. Flex also dabbles in disc and dock diving, proving how versatile he his...but flyball is his favorite. Loved by all, people and dogs included, he's a sweetheart that loves to cuddle when out of the ring. He truly deserves this award.

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 20
PRADA - Australian Shepherd, CRN 150816, (755) Ready Set Go, Mary Ann Nemisz
Nominated by: Paul Rioux, (755) Ready Set Go, Battersea, ON, CA

RSG is nominating Prada A.K.A. Psycho-Dog as our 2018 Region 20 MVP and here's why: Prada is a beautiful female Aussie who came to RSG in late 2015. Her love of flyball (or her craziness!!!) made her very focused on her job from the get-go. She learned the sport ultra-fast; does it very well and never makes mistakes. Psycho-dog would probably kill herself running in the lanes not matter how many times she is sent to the box! She just loves flyball, period. In fact, I'm pretty sure that if we were to let her go, she would just go up & down the lanes until she drops. Prada can be run in any spot, by anyone and into any dog. All other dogs probably think she just a crazy nutcase barking furball who's enjoying the sport. Everyone who knows Prada knows her painfully loud screaming of joy when she's on her way to the race lanes. As years went by, Prada was our go-to dog for helping train green dogs/handler during passing and recall practices. She simply loves all handlers as long as they point her towards the box! Thank you for considering Prada

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 20
Rouky - Mix, CRN 120018, (452) DogZworth, Anilou Vin
Nominated by: Ally Stern, (452) DogZworth, Montreal West, QC, CA

In 2011 I "liked" a photo of a little prick eared, red dog on Facebook. He was a homeless dog that had been found wandering. Because I "liked" the photo it popped up on Anilou Vin's Facebook newsfeed. A short time later Anilou adopted him. She named him Rouky. Rouky was all terrier and a little naughty. He didn't really like other dogs. But he loved Anilou and her dog Chica. He also loved balls and tugging! Rouky learned flyball quickly and debuted in 2012. Since then he has been a very important member of DogZworth's line up. His small size never mattered to Rouky. He's a speedy little guy and he absolutely loves flyball!! Rouky is consistent, able to pass any dog in any passing position, and he's always ready to be our reliable back up. In July he earned his Onyx title. At that same tournament Crossing Borders honoured him with a "dream team" award. We think he's really special! Please vote for DogZworth's Rouky as region 20's MVP for 2018.

REGION 21

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 21
Bailey - Labrador Retriever, CRN 100189, (1062) On the Flipside, Molly Egan
Nominated by: Jennifer Vincent, (1062) On the Flipside, Logan, IA, US

"Heart of a champion" is a phrase that comes to mind when nominating a dog for MVP. Bailey is a 10.5 year old lab who completely embodies that phrase. Not for the winnings or medals, but for the consistent performance that she has given every time she steps up to the line to run a race. Bailey currently is the proud owner of a 67,000 points and a MBGDCH title, yet she doesn't recognize such achievements. Bailey only knows the pure joy that flyball brings in her life. Her favorite "reward" is barking at her Mom and body slamming her at the end of the lanes...that is allowed when you are 10.5 years old! Bailey started her career with the Omaha Speedracers and is currently running with On the Flipside. Since beginning her career in 2009, Bailey has been the "token" lab on both multibreed teams. She has been in the CanAm finals for many years running and currently runs 4.0-4.2, not too shabby for a 10 year old girl! She is also an instrumental component training new dogs for the game. On the Flipside is humbled and honored to nominate Bailey for the 2018 Region 21 MVP award.

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 21
Ethel - Border Terrier, CRN 150392, (299) Omaha Speed Racers, Jennifer Howell
Nominated by: JAYNE MCQUILLEN, (532) Skidmarkz, Oxford, IA, US

Ethel...Oh Ethel! Ethel sure keeps her owner Jen & her OSR teammates on their toes. She catches people's eyes with her intensity & tiny but mighty attitude. While she is a fierce competitor, she sometimes has her own agenda. Ethel's agenda usually involves embarrassing her mom in new and exciting ways. During one of those embarrassing moments, she decided to join the Skidmarkz team...because Jen didn't have the right furry tug for her. Ethel later sent us a nice card and a bag of cookies to apologize for leading us on. We'd take her in an instant but MOST days her mom wants to keep her! All joking aside, Ethel is a fantastic asset to her team, being short, fast, and adorable. Not only does this little dog keep those jumps low, she loves to race and is an huge asset to OSR's multibreed racing. Ethel is also a delight for competitors and the general public to watch race. She is truly fun to watch and a real character in the lanes!

Nomination Regional MVP 2018 - REGION 21
Missy - Rat Terrier, CRN 110660, (682) Dog Gone Devils, Randy Jones
Nominated by: Kim Hott, (682) Dog Gone Devils, Cedar Rapids, IA, IA, US

Dog Gone Devils would like to nominate Missy for the Region 21 MVP. She is a 4.5 second height dog that gives her all to every run. Missy is a powerhouse Rat Terrier who has been a solid start dog for nine years. In the first year of Missy's life, she tried and failed at two homes. At one of these homes Missy was supposed to be a companion for an elderly person. When Missy landed in rescue for the third time, she was lucky enough to find her forever home with Randy Jones and Kelly Murphy. Training Missy was not always easy, and she had many issues to work through. For the longest time she had to pass into a dog that could handle her energy and intensity. Through hard work and determination, Randy and Kelly worked Missy through her issues and now she can run on any team and pass any dog in any position. She is ready to run an extra race for Dog Gone Devils or any other club that may call on her. Missy gives her heart and soul to every run which is why we nominate her as our Region 21 MVP.
